Egypt and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Energy Ties at OAPEC Meeting

As part of his participation in the 113th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia. The two ministers discussed enhancing cooperation and investment in the fields of oil, gas, petrochemicals, and renewable energy.

The meeting also covered topics of mutual interest and explored opportunities for exchanging expertise between the two ministries.

The meeting also touched on the importance of regional cooperation between OAPEC member countries to support the stability and balance of global oil markets in light of successive challenges.

Additionally, the two parties discussed the energy strategies to diversify the energy mix and overcome the challenges facing the energy sector.

Moreover, they explored ways for transferring expertise regarding the use of modern technologies to maximize the production of oil and gas resources.

For his part, bin Salman welcomed providing all forms of support to the Egyptian petroleum sector and to Egyptian companies operating in various projects in the energy sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
