EGPC to Raise Fuel Inflows During Eid

The government will increase gasoline supplies pumped to the local market during Eid Al-Adha feast, by around 10% to nearly 25 million liters per day, according to Abed Ezz El Regal, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) CEO, Amwal Al-Ghad reported.

EGPC will also pump 50-55 million liters of diesel per day, raising distribution by around 10% to cover potential increased consumption during the holidays.

Ezz El Regal pointed out that refineries currently produce roughly 38 million tons per year, which contributes to meeting the local demand of fuel and petroleum products, with imports bridging the gap between supplies and demand.

The Ministry of Petroleum plans to achieve self-sufficiency of petroleum products within two years, supported by increased crude oil and natural gas production as well as refining capacities.
