EGPC Chairman, Dragon Oil CEO Hold Talks on Expanding Activities in Egypt

Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation’s (EGPC) Chairman Salah Abdel Karim met with Dragon Oil’s CEO Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan along with other executives with aim to expand the company activities in Egypt.

Al-Jarwan expressed the company’s interest to increase its activities in Egypt, particularly in the Gulf of Suez and that it hopes to obtain new exploration areas in that region.

Abdel Karim commended the efforts of Dragon Oil to boost production and outlined the significant opportunities available in various regions on the petroleum investment map.

He emphasized the potential for leveraging Dragon Oil’s expertise in developing existing fields alongside policies of the Ministry and benefiting from facilities and  existing infrastructure and qualified workforce in the Gulf of Suez petroleum area.

This meeting is part of the Egyptian delegation’s participation in ADIPEC 2024, led by Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to support and follow up the progress of some projects in the petroleum sector with international companies and to explore new cooperation opportunities.
