Congo Invites Egypt to Cooperate over Electricity Projects

Egypt’s Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker held a meeting with Congo’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Pierre Anatole Matusila and his delegation in Cairo to discuss current and future cooperation between the two countries, according to Al Mal.

Matusila expressed his country’s interest in attracting the Egyptian private sector and investors to establish electricity projects in Congo, highlighting that facilities will be provided to Egyptian companies for operations activities.

On his side, Shaker expressed Egypt’s willingness to provide Congo with technical support beside the already existing cooperative efforts including the dispatch of Egyptian experts to Congo as well as providing training programs at the technical and administrative levels.

Shaker further asserted the government’s support to Congo’s electricity sector and that the Egyptian electricity sector’s potential is available to serve the electricity sector in the DRC.
