China Railway Submits Bid to Build $2.2b Power Plant in Egypt

The China Railway Company has submitted a bid to build a $2.2b energy plant in Egypt that will operate on a combined-cycle system with a capacity of 2,000MW, according to Amwal Al Ghad.

The report states that the company is utilizing international and Chinese financial institutions to bring new technologies to Egypt and its other countries of investment, where it has experience in building power plants. It also stated that China Railway was soon to submit its full proposal to the Ministry of Electricity – including technical and economic feasibility studies, finance mechanisms, repayment, and the cost of KWs generated from the plant.

China Railway is also investing in other projects, notably the administrative capital and the monorail project between 6th of October, Sheikh Zayed City, and Giza governorate.
