Aramco Mulling New Clean Fuels Projects

Saudi oil giant Aramco’s CEO, Amin Nasser, stated that Aramco is still studying plans for clean fuels project. The bidding deadline to build the clean fuels project at Aramco’s biggest oil refinery in Ras Tanura  has been changed, to be extended for the contractors till July 17th, according to Reuters.

The Saudi Arabian company is taking an environment-friendly approach as it proposed a $2b scheme to remove sulphur from refined products to meet strict environmental standards.  In line with this, Aramco has recently partnered with General Electric (GE) to install the kingdom’s first wind turbine at the Turaif Bulk; a project that is in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030 that has set a target to generate 9.5GW of renewable energy.

Aramco’s Head also announced that Jizan refinery is to be launched in 2018. The Jizan refinery is to be located in the southwest of the country, and is expected to process 400,000 b/d as it operates, Trade Arabia informed.
