ANRPC Project to Increase High-Octane Benzene Production by 850,000 Tons/Y

Alexandria National Refine and Petrochemical Company (ANRPC) is currently implementing a project that will increase the production of 92-octane benzene and 95-octane benzene by 850,000 tons per year through the establishment of a naphtha improvement unit and a catalyst continue activation unit. It will further increase the output of butane and hydrogen, ANRPC Head, Khaled Khalifa, stated. The project is 91% complete and is expected to be finalized by September and launched by November 2018, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

Khalifa’s statement came during a follow-up visit of Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, to ANRPC.

The minister pointed out the importance of following health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards in implementing and operating the project, as well as the importance of securing funds, trainings, and required equipment in order to commit to HSE and minimize errors.
