ANRPC Produces 900,000 Tons of Petroleum Products

Alexandria National Refining & Petrochemical Company (ANRPC) produced 878,000 tons of high-octane gasoline and approximately 22,500 tons of butane in fiscal year (FY) 2016/2017, according to the Head of ANRPC, Khaled Khalifa, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The company plans to increase its production capacity of 92-octane gasoline and 95-octane gasoline to 850,000 tons per year.

ANRPC has invested EGP 1.98 billion in the continuous catalyst regeneration (CCR) of butane and hydrogen, Khalifa noted, adding that Enppi and Petroject have been contracted to work on the project. At present, the project is 81% complete and is expected to begin trial operations in October 2018.

In addition to its investments in CCR, ANRPC is investing in a zero-liquid discharge (ZLD) project to recycle industrial wastewater, saving the company EGP 25 million per year. The company also plans to invest $176 million in a project to produce 160,000 tons of ammonia from its two CCR units. The ammonia will be used by the fertilizer industry.

The figures were announced during the company’s annual general assembly chaired by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla.
