95% of Repairs Completed on South Pars Gas Field 

Iran’s South Pars gas field has completed 95% of proposed repairs during the Iranian calendar year just gone (ended March 19, 2020), according to IRNA.

The repairs finished included: Improved steam turbine control system, upgrade of the propane compressor control system, and modifying the refinery’s lightning arrester. These rectifications have been effective in increasing the refinery’s reliability and achieving this indicator.

Hossein Baghban, Head of maintenance at South Pars, commented that the refinery had reduced the time of fundamental repairs by 2%. In terms of future repairs, Mr Baghban also referred to upgrading the propane compressor control system which will prevent the compressor stoppage to a large extent.

The South Pars Gas field is currently working on part of Phase 11, and six platforms of phases 13, 14, 22, 23, and 24 were installed in the last Iranian year (ended March 19, 2020), four of which have been operationalized.

Pars Oil and Gas Company has a total of 17 ongoing projects and is expected to embark on 22 more this year.
