EPEX Explores Unconventional Resources in Egypt

The Egyptian Petroleum Society (EPEX), headed by Dr. Ahmed A. Fattah, recently devoted a monthly session to the topic of unconventional resources in Egypt. Held on June 24th at the Sofitel in Maadi, the session brought together government officials, academics and industry professionals to discuss the potential of unconventional exploration in Egypt.

Halliburton Hosts Conference on Unconventional Resources

Halliburton recently hosted the 2013 Technology Forum at the Cairo JW Marriott. Titled ''Shale Plays: Discovering the Opportunities in Egypt,'' the event brought governmental officials and industry executives together in order to discuss the potential of shale exploration in Egypt. The event, organized by Halliburton, was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and EGPC.

Shell and British Council Egypt Honor Intilaaqah Graduates

For the seventh year in a row Shell Egypt and British Council Egypt honored the graduates of the 'Shell Intilaaqah Egypt' program. The seventh annual awards ceremony was held at the Intercontinental City Stars, El Saraya Ballroom.

Dow Chemical Works to Enhance STEM Education In Egypt

Dow is working to build an innovative and competitive workforce, and create a knowledgeable society that values science and technology through its support for STEM education and careers. As an attempt in innovation, Dow is supporting the Education Consortium for the Advancement of Stem in Egypt (ECASE) project with STEM schools to make a difference for students, educators and academic institutions.

Al Amal Program completes its 5th round successfully

The Al Amal Program was initiated in 2007 and developed by a team of experts from diverse oil and gas companies, universities and other Egyptian corporations. It is organized by the Egyptian Geophysical Society (EGS) and EPEX. The project was designed to fill any gap between industry and academia to help top graduates find their way to the market. The program also aims to help petroleum companies select the qualified and high caliber candidates for future positions in the Egyptian oil and natural gas sector.

Kuwait Energy board meets in Egypt

Kuwait Energy's board members met in Egypt in October to visit their sites and discuss further investments in the region. Kuwait Energy's board hosted a dinner at Marriot Zamalek, to highlight the accomplishments and future forecasts of the Company, and took the opportunity to network with industry professionals in Egypt. Kuwait Energy's Executive Chairman Dr. Manssour Aboukhamseen, Ms. Sara Akbar - the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mohammad Alhowqal - Chief of Operations and Mr. Harry Saul - President, Kuwait Energy Egypt, were among the Company's team that welcomed many renowned figures from Egypt's energy sector to the event, headed by Egyptian Oil Minister Mr. Osama Kamal.

The ECHEM/Petroleum Economist Egypt Petrochemicals Conference, Petrochemicals in the New Egypt

On the 26th and the 27th of September, the Egyptian Holding Company for Petrochemicals (ECHEM) and Petroleum Economist organized the Egypt Petrochemicals Conference in the JW Marriott hotel in Cairo. The conference revolved around the theme of Petrochemicals in the New Egypt, aiming to discuss the prospects, opportunities, and challenges facing the growing petrochemicals sector in Egypt. Several high-profile figures and executives attended the conference in order to partake in the discussion regarding the development of Egypt's petrochemicals industry, most prominent among them Prime Minister Dr. Hisham Qandil and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Osama Kamal.
