Egyptian butane imports grew by 10.58% YOY, reaching 302,000 tons in March 2019, compared to the 273,100 imported in March 2018.
Egypt's petroleum products' consumption dropped by around 3.69% YOY in March 2019 to 2.711 million tons, compared to 2.815 million tons in the same month last year.
Egypt’s natural gas production increased by 28.75% YOY, reaching 4.425 million tons in March 2019, up from 3.437 million tons produced in March 2018.
The increase is directly linked to the boost in production from the second phase of North Alexandria project and from Zohr field.
The factory will be producing 10,000 tons per year of automotive lubricants, covering the company's expansion plans across the country.
The development work in Zohr field and some of the exploration fields in the Mediterranean contributed to a production leap early in 2019, increasing production by 700,000 tons in January 2019.
