Cheiron Petroleum Corporation (“Cheiron”) announced the successful completion of acquiring 50 % of Shell’s upstream oil and gas assets in the Western Desert. The remaining 50% of the interests will be purchased by Cairn Energy PLC (“Cairn”), Cheiron’s strategic partner.

Badr El-Din Petroleum Company (Bapetco) announced that its investments reached $298 million with 100% success rate in drilling three exploration wells during H1 of FY 2021/22 as well as planning to drill two exploration wells during H2 of FY 2021/22.

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, stated that Al-Hamra port in the Mediterranean region will increase its oil production from 1.5 to 2.6 million barrels (mmbbl), which represent 73.3% to transform Egypt into a regional hub for oil and gas.

Badr El-Din Petroleum Company’s (Bapetco) Badr 1 production recorded 1.15 million barrels of oil (mmbbl) in the fiscal year (FY) 2019/20, an 11% increase from initial plans.

The Chairman of Badr El Din Petroleum company (BAPETCO), Salah Abdel Kerim said that the rate of production of his company reached 114,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) including more than 38 barrels of crude oil and condensates per day as well as 423 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (cf/d).
