Egypt Gets Bids From 12 Intl Cos For Oil & Gas Exploration

Egypt's ministry of petroleum has received 25 proposals from 12 international companies to search for oil and gas across the eastern and western desert, Gulf of Suez and Sinai, daily Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram reports Sunday, citing Adel Saeed, the vice chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

ExxonMobil work in Egypt suspended amid strike

In front of the factory of ExxonMobil, in the industrial city of the 10th of Ramadan, workers posted banners saying ''No to contracts of forced labour or tyranny,'' and ''The free people of 10th of Ramadan ask for equality between all Mobil workers.'' The workers of ExxonMobil Egypt have been on strike since 7 April, asking for permanent contracts. The administration answered by suspending work in the factory.

Aker Solutions wins surface wellhead contract in Egypt

International oil services group Aker Solutions has signed a two-year frame agreement with Egyptian oil giant Badr Petroleum Company (Bapetco).
