Update-1: Fuel Crisis in Egypt

EGPC announced that it will begin pumping additional quantities of gasoline—up to 10%—at all gas stations in the coming days, after the lack of 92 octane gasoline has risen to crisis levels in a number of stations, reported Egypt Oil & Gas (EOG).

EGPC will also continue pumping the usual rates of gasoline and diesel, which amounts to 18,000 and 37,000 tons a day, respectively. The company has also been pumping 100,000 tons since the beginning of this week, grade 80 octane and 92 octane, to help resolve the crisis before it escalates any further in the Upper Egypt provinces.

EGPC noted that fuel import plans are ongoing and would not be affected during the coming phase, adding that they were ready to meet the needs of citizens during Eid El-Adha.
