Ukraine’s Gas Stocks Increase by 16.7%

After the completion of Ukraine’s 2015/2016 heating season, natural gas stocks that are stored in the country’s underground facilities have increased by 16.7% or 1.406bcm, reported Interfax Ukraine.

UA Position further explained that according to the operator of Ukraine’s gas transportation system, Ukrtransgaz, Ukraine’s supply of natural gas has grown in the first week of July by 115mcm or 1.2% to 9.844bcm, which is a 19.4% decline year-on-year.

The company also declared that in July 2016, 23.73mcm of gas were pumped to Ukraine’s underground storage facilities, compared to 26.18mcm in July 2015. The country has imported a small volume of 1.459mcm/d of natural gas in July 2016, from solely two countries, Slovakia and Hungary. No gas was imported from Russia or Poland.
