For the first time ever, the U.S. rose to the top becoming the world’s top liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter by the end of December 2021, Bloomberg stated.
According to its data, Bloomberg declared that the production of the American facilities increased over the Qatari ones in December motivated by a jump in the exports of Sabine Pass and Freeport facilities.
Bloomberg elaborated that the U.S. transformed from being an LNG importer to an exporter in less than one decade, thanks to the shale gas revolution along with the billion dollars of investments in this field.
Furthermore, the U.S. is expected to become the top exporter also by 2022 when Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass terminal starts production.
