Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan laid the foundation stone for TAQA Arabia’s 14-kilometer natural gas pipeline serving the Al-Rawdah Industrial City in the Ma’an Development Area, marking a strategic milestone for Jordan’s industrial and energy sectors, according to TAQA Arabia’s LinkedIn page.

The project is part of two natural gas supply projects for Al-Rawdah and Al-Muwaqqar industrial cities, supported by $70 million in funding from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD).TAQA Arabia secured the project in August 2026 after establishing a branch in Jordan.

At the time, Tarek El-Hawary, Managing Director of TAQA Gas, a TAQA Arabia subsidiary, said the company would maintain quality and safety standards throughout construction and provide manufacturers in the Ma’an Development Area with a reliable natural gas supply.

The project is expected to be completed within 18 months and is projected to reduce energy costs for industries in Jordan by 35% to 50%.

Established in 2006, TAQA Arabia invests in a range of energy infrastructure projects, including natural gas transmission and distribution, conventional and renewable power generation, and oil product marketing.
