Sonatrach CEO Amine Mazouzi said in Oran the group’s medium-term development program (2015-2019) aims to strengthen the position of Algeria on the international energy and gas markets and meet the needs of the internal market, Algeria Press Service reported.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the 10th Scientific and Technical Days of Sonatrach, he stressed the program’s focus points relate to support for exploration activities, control and expansion of production capacity, the development of refining and transportation by pipeline, the increase of liquefaction capacity of natural gas and petrochemistry development.
For the CEO of Sonatrach, these measures aim at “meeting two goals: increase the supply of hydrocarbons, control expenditures costs, respect the environment and contribute to national development.

Mazouzi said Sonatrach was aware of its role in supporting Algeria’s economic growth by increasing oil and gas reserves in an economic manner in order to raise production levels and respond to domestic and international energy demand, Platts published.
