The Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) is waiting for a security approval to begin a bidding round for exploration tenders for multiple locations and many different kinds of metals in the Eastern Desert and Sinai, said geologist Amr Tiama.
For his part Sherif Ismail, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, announced days ago, that his ministry had completed the drafting of the mining law. All that remaining was the outlying question of private quarries, which was being studied at the Ministry of Local Development. As soon their task was over the executive regulations would be issued and the law would be implemented immediately.
