Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) finished the construction of a natural gas network 305 kilometer (km) long and stretching across Rahmaniyah, according to WAM.
This recent extension has brought the total length of the network in Sharjah up to 1,750 km. SEWA is at present planning to build a strategic line from Rahmaniyah station to the Muwailih commercial area to provide gas to development projects.
The Chairman of SEWA, Rashid Al Leem, pointed out that the number of people who benefit from natural gas services in Sharjah exceeded 300,000, with an eye to providing gas to all areas.
SEWA has plans to implement gas extensions in Khorfakkan (90 km long) and natural gas extensions in Kalba city (120 km).
