EGPC agreed to lease two Workover rigs from SinoTharwa, ST-7 at 1000 horse power and ST-22at 650 horse power, an official at Petroshahd told EOG earlier today.
The purpose of the rigs is to carry out maintenance required to restore production capacity for 6 wells. The main maintenance work involves the replacement of artificial lift units or production pipes.
The following wells are earmarked for maintenance work:
- Shahd-1
- Shahd Janoub Shark-1
- Shahd Janoub Shark-3
- Ghard-1
- Rana-1
- Al-Zuhra-4
The total daily rent for the two Workover rigs is around $8 thousands.
Maintenance work is anticipated to last no more than two months for the all the wells.
