Petrobras has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. for creating cooperation opportunities in areas of hydrocarbon exploration and production, carbon capture, new energy sources, emergency response planning, and more.

Cooperation with Staatsolie could result in better sustainable oil and gas practices and contribute to climate resilience in the region, as Petrobras said.

This agreement comes in line with Petrobras’ strategy of developing partnerships that allow it to share risks and expertise, seeking to strengthen the company as an integrated energy company and contributing to the success of the fair and responsible energy transition.
