Oman Signs LNG Supply Deal with Japanese Kansai Electric Power

Oman LNG has signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Japanese Kansai Electric Power FTS PTE. Ltd. for the delivery of 0.4 million metric tons per year (MTPA) of LNG over the period of four years starting in 2026.

Through this deal Oman further expands its LNG business to new buyers in Japan. Notably, it follows another agreement signed in April 2024, wherein Oman LNG committed to supplying up to 0.8 mtpa to Japan’s JERA for ten years starting in 2025.

The agreement was signed by Hamad Mohammed Al Nu’amani, CEO of Oman LNG and Shinichi Kudo, CEO of Kansai Electric Power.
