Ministry of Petroleum: Strategic Gasoline Reserves Enough for 15 days

In a statement to Egypt Oil & Gas, Hamdi Abdel Aziz, the Ministry of Petroleum’s official spokesman, confirmed that the country’s strategic reserve of gasoline is sufficient for 15 days.  He added that currently the ministry is working on increasing the supply of fuel to the local market, especially to Upper Egypt to ease the jams in fuel stations.

He added that the ports of Alexandria and Suez have just received shipments of gasoline totaling 60,000 tons, with two more vessels carrying 70,000 tons scheduled for the 7th October.

Abdel Aziz confirmed that Egyptian refineries were working efficiently again in accordance with set plans, while the import programs were arriving on schedule too. He added that continued coordination with the Ministry of Supply and their inspectors to tighten control over service stations to prevent the black market trade in petroleum products.
