Egypt has signed preliminary deals with Kuwait’s privately-owned Alghanim International for two energy-related projects worth a total of $1.6bn, reported Amwal Al-Ghad.
One project involves four gas-powered plants converted to operate on combined cycle, while the other would establish gas-powered plants with a total capacity of 900 megawatts.
The energy crisis is of political importance to Egypt, hence, the focus on encouragement of private investment in the sector.
