Production at Iraq’s Nasiriya oilfield will be expanded to 100,000 barrels per day (b/d) following a government vote, Reuters reported.
“Based on the recommendation of the energy committee, [the] cabinet voted to expand production from the Nasiriya field to 100,000 barrels per day,” Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi stated on June 12.
In December 2017, the Iraqi oil ministry outlined plans to increase production at the field from 90,000 b/d to 200,000 b/d over the next few years with the help of international firms.
