Iran to Receive More Nuclear Fuels from Russia

TVEL, a subsidiary of Russia’s state-run nuclear energy company Rosatom, says it will deliver fresh nuclear fuel to Iran’s Bushehr power plant by the end of this month, reported Press TV.

This is scheduled for September during a planned maintenance of the plant, with international experts present, TVEL said.

“Thus, the Iranian nuclear reactor will be connected to the country’s energy system on time without any disturbance to the consumers, as well as to nuclear and radiation safety,” it added.

In a related development Sputnik International quoted the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov as saying: “We hope that the first Bushehr power unit will be followed by others. We would not want to limit our bilateral cooperation with Iran even to Bushehr-2 or Bushehr-3”.
