Iran Shipped First Euro 4-Complaint Gas Oil

The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) has announced that the country has deployed its first Euro 4-compliant gas oil shipment to global markets, Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide reported. In the current Iranian year, the country has exported a daily average of 9.5m liters of gas oil, which is a double increase of the amount shipped in the same period of 2015.

The NIOPDC’s Director of the Mahshahr region, Mahmoud Taherizadeh, said that “in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began March 20th, about 184m liters of diesel fuel with Euro 4 standards have been exported from Mahshahr oil terminal.” The shipment came in addition to approximately 960m liters of mazut transported to the world markets.

According to Oil Price, NIOPDC’s director added that the Mahshahr terminal has become a major corridor for petroleum exports, and that diesel and mazut exports are expected to continue to grow.
