GPC to Boost Production by 5,000 b/d

Ahmed Jiddawi, Chairman of the General Petroleum Company (GPC) production department, said that his company has devised a new production plan meant to up production to approximately 5000 b/d of crude oil. This was after drilling three new wells, one in the Gulf of Suez, one in the Western Desert, and one in the Eastern Desert, reported Egypt Oil & Gas.

He explained in a statement that a number of exploratory and development wells will be drilled during the current fiscal year, after getting EGPC’s approval. EGPC had lent us considerable support during the last period after the surge in the company’s productivity during the past two years, he said.

He pointed out that the company’s current production from its concession areas was around 64,700 boe per day.
