EOG Upstream Technical Convention Postponed Due to Pandemic

The Egypt Oil & Gas (EOG) Upstream Technical Convention has been postponed to the end of March or the beginning of April due to the current circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mohamed Fouad, Committee Co-Chairman and Managing Director at EOG, announced during the EOG Committee meeting.

The convention which is held annually in December was previously postponed to January 2021 as a precautionary step. However, the committee is planning to increase the added value and improve the upcoming convention by involving a number of its several task forces within the convention.

The committee also presented its new agenda for the newly established communication task force which will offer “resilient and balanced communications on a myriad of topics including but not limited to; technical, health, safety, and environment (HSE), and corporate social responsibility (CSR) levels.”

The committee also expanded its young professional task force scope to include both early careers professionals as well as middle management. In that sense, the task force aims to align its work with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ Middle Management Program.

During the meeting, the committee proposed launching several workshops in collaboration with notable companies that focuses on coaching and mentoring as well as human resources (HR).

The committee also welcomed new members, Karim El-Dessouky, Bechtel Egypt Country Manager; as well as Hans Westbroek, General Manager and Managing Director, Dara & West Bakr.
