Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has reviewed plans to secure domestic supplies of petroleum products and natural gas amid escalating regional tensions and their impact on global energy markets and supply chains, according to a ministry statement on October 29.
Badawi held a meeting to assess current supply levels, actual consumption rates and projected demand, as well as measures to ensure sufficient supplies for households and various sectors of the economy, particularly economic and productive activities, the statement said.
The meeting also examined developments in global oil and gas markets and price trends amid geopolitical uncertainty, with a focus on monitoring international market indicators, assessing potential risks to domestic supplies and preparing for different scenarios.
The minister stressed the importance of continued coordination among relevant authorities and more efficient management of available resources to maintain reliable supplies of petroleum products and natural gas.
The meeting followed broader government efforts to assess the potential economic impact of regional developments.
