ENAP Sipetrol Takes Part in Egypt Oil & Gas’s Energy Security Strategic Roundtable

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources led the round table supported by ENAP Sipetrol within the activities of the 8th annual Oil and Gas convention with the participation of the ministry and holding companies’ leaders and general managers of international oil companies operating in Egypt.

The event witnessed discussions about energy security and how to achieve a responsible energy transition without imperiling energy security. El-Molla explained that achieving this goal requires the concerted efforts of everyone to accelerate its achievement and translate all ideas into executive steps at a rapid pace to exploit natural resources and move towards carbon reduction in cooperation with national and international oil and gas companies.

Denisse Abudinén, CEO ENAP Sipetrol and General Manager ENAP Sipetrol Egypt stated: “In order to continue developing the oil and gas industry in Egypt, it is important to increase the implementation of digitization and innovation to achieve a higher level of efficiency, but it is also very important to become a more responsible industry defining a clear decarbonization roadmap, which should be developed for all the Oil & Gas Industry in the country to guarantee its real impact”.

The round table witnessed a keynote presentation by Wood Mackenzie under the title “Global energy security: what does the current crisis mean for Egypt?” In light of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its impact on the energy transition and its impact on Egypt, highlighting that Egypt can take advantage of this opportunity to expand its role as a regional hub for gas and oil trading.
