The Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) decided to extend the official period of receiving the investors’ proposals for the gold international bid round to the end of June 2021, after it was planned to close by mid-May, EMRA announced.
This is the second extension for the official period as it was supposed to be closed initially in March 2021.

The postponement decision was taken to give the investors more time to study the offered areas, according to Al-Mal quoting an anonymous source. In November 2020, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, announced the launch of the new international bid round for mineral ores and associated minerals exploration.
