Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, met with Ashish Khanna, Program Leader for sustainable development and infrastructure for Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti, as well as Fabio Grazi, Agence Française de Développement (AFD)’s Country Director in Egypt, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
The meeting discussed the updates of the national project designed to connect households to the natural gas national grid, in which both the World Bank and AFD contribute in funding, along with the European Union (EU).
The meeting reviewed the operational situation of the project, which aims to connect around 2.3 million households across 20 governorates to the national natural gas grid.
During the meeting, the attendees discussed a medium term work plan to proceed with the remaining phases of the project, while giving priority to the areas that are in need more.
