Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with EU Director-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson and Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt Ivan Surkoš for a discussion over ways to increase joint cooperation with Egypt, Petro Press informed.

The meeting further discussed possibilities of benefiting from EU initiatives that support the energy activities, particularly oil and gas projects in attempts to achieve sustainable development.

Danielsson referred the EU’s commitment to support the joint cooperation between the two sides, stressing that the Egyptian oil and gas sector is a priority for the EU in light of the outstanding results the industry has accomplished.

In addition, El Molla discussed the project of the gas market regulatory authority, expected to turn Egypt into a gas hub, was reviewed during the meeting.
