Egypt’s 2018 presidential elections would begin abroad on March 26^th, The National Electoral Commission (NEC) announced on January 8^th during a press conference, Daily News Egypt reported.

Presidential elections would kick off abroad on March 16^th, NEC’s announcement added.

Elections in Egypt will be held on three days, starting March 26^th and March 28^th, in order for the results to be announced on April 2^nd.

In case Egypt needed an elections rerun, elections would start outside of Egypt from April 19^th to April 21^st, while it will take place in Egypt from April 24^th to April 26^th.The country will need to have a runoff if no candidate gets over 50% of the votes.

NEC will receive candidates’ applications between January 20^th and January 29^th and will publish the list in state-run Al-Ahram and Al-Akhbar newspapers by the end of January 2018.
