Egypt increased production from Al Abyad fields located in the Western Desert as part of the efforts exerted by the oil and gas sector to boost Egypt’s overall production, Egypt Oil&Gas reported citing a press release by the Ministry of Petroleum.

According to the report submitted by Badr El Din Petroleum (Bapetco)’s CEO, Emad Hamdy, to the Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Mollla, the field’s production increased by 25mcf/d of natural gas and by 1,200b/d of condensates after installing the new compressor, which boosted total production to 515mcf/d of natural gas, 47,400b/d of crude and condensate, totaling 140,000b/d of equivalents.

The report added that the company will link the new discovery OBJ 14-4 to production in March 2017 with production capacity of 30mcf/d of gas and 1,000b/d of condensates.

Bapetco is further planning to drill a new development well in the Neyag field in order to increase the field’s production by around 5,000b/d of crude oil.
