Egyptian Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dea Nile Gmbh (Wintershall Dea) to prepare studies on carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).
According to the agreement, the two companies will conduct evaluations as well as commercial and technical feasibility studies for the available opportunities to start CCUS projects in addition to studying the capability of Wintershall Dea’s fields to store carbon.
Additionally, the two parties will prepare commercial and technical studies for applying turquoise hydrogen production technology in Egypt. The agreement also includes the provision of technical consulting services to EGAS based on the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).
