EGAS Resumes Suspended Gas Imports to Fertilizer Plants

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) informed that recently suspended gas imports to be delivered to several fertilizer plants is to be resumed on April 7h, Daily News Egypt wrote, and the process of gas pumping into fertilizer factories will be gradual.

EGAS stopped importing gas to fertilizer factories at the beginning of April due to the late delivery of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipment from the Norwegian Hoegh Gasification ship to Ain Sokhna. An EGAS official said the late delivery was due to bad weather.

The suspended gas delivery impacted MOPCO, Al-Masriya 1 and 2, Helwan, Alexandria, and APEC plants.

The official also noted that the first gasification ship for Hoegh was completed already in March, and it started supplying the national network.

EGAS informed that 200mcf/d of gas is imported to be pumped to both Talkha fertilizer factory and the Abu Qir factory, while the total contracted quantities of the fertilizer factories reaches 510mcf/d.
