For the third consecutive year, the Egypt Oil & Gas Group has launched its annual technical workshop series as part of the preparations for the Egypt Oil & Gas Convention (EOGC), which will mark its 12th edition this year. The series kicked off October 6–7 with a two-day session at the Badr-3 field in Egypt’s Western Desert.
Organized in collaboration with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the workshops provide a platform for field engineers in similar operating environments to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and tackle common technical and operational challenges.
Throughout the two days, participants presented practical solutions focused on boosting operational efficiency and elevating safety standards. Key insights and recommendations from the workshops will be showcased at EOGC 2026, set to take place in late November.
Tamer Edrees, Deputy Chairman for Production at EGPC, and Khaled Abdel Salam, Chairman of Badr Petroleum Company (BAPETCO), Alaa Hatata, BAPETCO Managing Director, and Osama Elshenoufy, Northeast Africa Director at Weatherford, were among the sector’s leadership attending the workshop.
The two-day agenda featured technical presentations from BAPETCO, PetroShahd, Alamein, Burg El Arab, El Hamra Oil, NANT, Norpetco, Marina, Petrosilah, Petrosannan, Agiba, PetroFarah, DAPETCO, Khalda, and WEPCO. The sessions covered operational experiences and technical issues relevant to oil and gas activities across the Western Desert.
In 2025, three similar workshops were held at Ras Shoukair, El-Gamil, and Meleiha.
EOGC’s field Workshops are sponsored by United Energy Egypt(UEE), an affiliate of Kuwait Energy Egypt (KEE) under the umbrella of United Energy Group (UEG). UEE was awarded Western Desert Block 11 in 2021, marking its entry into Egypt’s onshore upstream sector.
