Second EOGC 2026 Workshop Explores Development of Delta, Mediterranean Fields

The development of the Delta and Mediterranean fields took center stage at the second technical workshop for the 12th Egypt Oil & Gas Convention (EOGC 2026). Hosted on October 11 at Pharaonic Petroleum Company’s (PhPC) West Harbour field, the session followed the series kickoff held a few days earlier at the Badr-3 field in the Western Desert.

Organized in collaboration with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the workshops provide a platform for field engineers working in comparable operating environments to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and address common technical and operational challenges.

Participants also explored practical measures to enhance performance and strengthen workplace safety. The workshops’ findings and recommendations will be presented at EOGC 2026 in late November.

Senior EGPC officials attended, including Tamer Edrees, Deputy Chairman for Production; Ahmed Mohamed Ibrahim Abdu, Deputy Executive President for Agreements; and Mohammed Sabry, Assistant Chairman for Health and Safety (HSE).

Hossam Zaki, PhPC Chairman, opened the workshop with the first presentation, followed by technical and operational insights from senior executives representing Petrobel, Rashid Petroleum Company (Rashpetco), Abu Qir Petroleum, North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO), Wastani Petroleum Company (WASCO), and Petro Disouq.

EOGC’s field workshops are sponsored by United Energy Egypt (UEE), an affiliate of Kuwait Energy Egypt (KEE) under the umbrella of United Energy Group (UEG). UEE was awarded Western Desert Block 11 in 2021, marking its entry into Egypt’s onshore upstream sector.
