China’s largest manufacturer and exporter of longitudinal submerged arc welded steel pipes, Chu Kong Petroleum and Natural Gas Steel Pipe Holdings Ltd, has earned two bids from China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), to supply the steel pipes required for its natural gas project in Tianjin, reported Energy Global.

The 10,000 t steel pipes are expected to be delivered in 2016.

LNG Industry has quoted the Chairman of Chu Kong Petroleum, Mr. Chen Chang saying: “The construction kick off of the Sinopec’s Tianjin natural gas project is a sign that the nation is very keen to promote the development of clean energy. It is expected that the demand of steel pipes will become strong, supported by upcoming national gas projects and the ’13th Five-Year Plan’ which will launch more energy and infrastructure projects.”
