Chemex to Expand Nigerian Refinery

US’s Chemex Modular LLC, a leading supplier of modular refinery and gas processing equipment, announced that it has reached an agreement with Niger Delta Petroleum Resources Ltd (NDPR) to expand NDPR’s existing refining capacity from 1,000b/d of crude to 11,000b/d, All Africa reported.

NDPR currently operates the only privately-held petroleum refinery in Nigeria. This expansion, which is planned for 2018, will allow NDPR to supply increased diesel capacity, jet fuel, gasoline, and marine diesel oil, according to PR Newswire Association.

Chemex Modular, a Texas based firm, designed and fabricated the existing NDPR refinery, which was commissioned in 2012 and has been utilized at full capacity since 2012. Furthermore, the company provides equipment for diesel topping plants, hydroskimming refineries for the production of high-octane gasoline, flare gas reduction units, and waste to energy plants..
