Shell Oil Company, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc, agreed to sale its interest in Deer Park refinery to partner Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) for about $596 million, according to Shell's press release.

The $450 million project is part of several projects aimed to achieve gasoline self-sufficiency in the next few years. Currently, the project’s expansion is valued at EGP 1.6 billion and is expected to operate with a production capacity of 660,000 tons per year of naphtha in addition to producing butane.
