Reuters reported that Egypt is planning to rent a third floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) late 2016 or early in 2017, in an effort to deal with gas shortage.
The new date contradicts with earlier reports of the government’s intention to rent the FSRU early next year.
Egypt’s third FSRU will be used to meet the natural gas needs of factories, and boost electricity generation, head of the state-run EGAS gas board, Khaled Abdel Badie, said during a news conference.
