Rome-based Eni S.p.A. plans to link well number 13 of offshore Zohr gas field, located at the Mediterranean, to production by next week, a source at the petroleum sector told Al-Borsa Newspaper.
Eni has started implementing the seventh natural gas processing plant at Zohr field with a capacity of 400 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of natural gas.
Eni completed drilling the tenth well at Zohr field, which was gradually linked to the production of the operating processing plants.
The well, which will be completed and start production by the end of this month, will increase the number of producing wells in Zohr field to ten wells.
Revising the price is based on the development agreement, which states the revision of prices two years following production start.
Mexican investment has financed 90% of the costs of the pipelines installed in the Zohr natural gas field.
The mechanical and electrical installation works for Zohr field’s first and second phases will soon be completed.
