The US government has eased sanctions against Sudan. The current decision lifts restrictions on petroleum and petrochemical industries, including oilfield services and oil and gas pipeline transactions by Americans.
Sudan has delayed an extension to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Videsh’s license on Block 2B as it seeks higher royalties, tax, and profit.
Sudan's Sudapet will become the sole owner of Block B2, located in the southern part of the country. This comes in line with the new production sharing agreement (PSA) and will take effect late November.
