ASORC to Refine 4.1M tons of Crude Oil in 2019/20
Assiut Oil Refining Company (ASORC) plans to refine 4.1 million tons of crude oil during fiscal year (FY) 2019/20, according to company head Mahmoud Hassan.

The company will establish crude oil distillation apparatus with production capacity 1.2 million tons per year.
The 7.8 million tons will be refined at the Mostorod and Tanta refineries, and will include 750,000 tons belonging to Egyptian Refining Company (ERC).
The Egyptian oil and gas sector added 240,000 barrels per day (b/d) of crude oil to production in 2018, according to a source at the Ministry of Petroleum.
Egyptian electricity production increased by 7.6% YOY in September 2018, recording 18.4 MWh compared to 17.1 MWh in September 2017.
Egypt’s diesel output fell by 5.96% YOY in October 2018 recording 552,000, down from 587,000 tons in September 2017.
The planned increase comes to cover growing fuel demands in the light of industrial and electricity recent projects that depend on fuel, in addition to the growing market demand of benzene, diesel and butane.
Egypt’s natural gas output increased by 27.7% YOY to reach 4.176 million tons in October 2018, up from 3.27 million tons in October 2017.
Egypt’s consumption of petroleum products dropped by around 7.4% YOY in October 2018 to 2.749 million tons, compared to 2.969 million tons in October 2017.
Egyptian butane imports decreased by 40.34% YOY reaching 126,000 tons in October 2018, compared to 211,200 in October 2017.
