The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) is aiming to increase natural gas production to 6.75 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) in January 2019 a source at the company told Amwal Al Ghad.

Natural gas output rates recorded 6.6 bcf/d during the Q4 of 2018 as a result of doubling Zohr field output and adding a number of development and exploratory wells to production , the source pointed out.

The production would increase by around 150 million standard cubic feet (mmscf/d), which supports the ministry’s self-sufficiency strategy achieved in 2018,and also support the country’s plans of re-exporting gas.
