Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company’s (EGAS) dues from the Ministry of Electricity have significantly increased to amount to roughly EGP 53 billion in exchange for the gas that electricity generation stations obtain.
The Ministry of Electricity plans to add 3,600MW of electrical energy next summer to overcome growing electricity consumption, according to Electricity Minister Mohamed Hamed Shaker.
Egypt's Petroleum and Electricity Ministries have reached an agreement to reschedule debts owed to the Ministry of Petroleum by the electricity sector in the upcoming months. The debts have reached EGP 44 billion.
